I envy the physical education teachers of the world. It seems like they have an easy job. Kids love getting out of the classroom. Kids love playing sports and being active. Get a whistle, a class roster, and you're all set to have a nice career.
I wish it were that easy.
From a distance, the best PE teachers make it look that simple. They blow a whistle, throw out a basketball, bark some instructions, and keep the kids entertained for 40 minutes while you plan for your next lesson. Often overlooked by classroom teachers, a good physical education teacher knows how to manage a classroom and keep it safe.
